Create a Workout Journal
This is the most common type of journal entry — it links your notes, feelings, and gear to an actual recorded run.
Step by Step
- Pick your workout — you'll see a list of recent runs from Apple Health. Tap the one you want to journal about.
- Run details — for running workouts, you can tag the terrain (road, trail, track), run type (easy, tempo, intervals), weather, and how you felt.
- Select gear — choose which shoes (or other gear) you used. You can pick multiple items or skip this entirely.
- General details — add a title (required) and any notes you want to remember.
- Create — tap "Create Journal Entry" and you're done!
Good to Know
- Running workouts get extra detail fields (terrain, type, etc.) that other workout types don't
- Gear tracking helps you know when shoes are wearing out
- You can edit any entry later if you want to add or change details
