Breadcrumbs. New tracking of significant location changes and adding to workouts if added to journal within 24 hour. Enable Always update when prompted to enable this.

v1.10

More location oriented features:

  • Proposes the run title including the location nearest the starting breadcrumb.
  • Visualise your runs on a map showing where you have runs that have location captured.
  • Edit and remove breadcrumbs from runs.
  • Enabled easier pan, zoom and my location capability on maps.

Minor changes:

  • changed the all date analysis to 500 days to allow better year to year comparisons

v1.11

Added sleep perspectives to journal and analysis.

  • Added sleep from previous day to journals for runs.
  • Includes sleep overview in analysis for health, and its relationship to pace.

Added data export in Settings – Advanced Data Management

UI Changes:

  • Changed pace representation to the more common MM:SS format.
  • Grouped items in journal editing and settings to simplify the screens.
  • Reordered items on journals for runs creation and editing.

v1.12

Analysis

Added three new analysis charts that look for average results against different dimensions – distance, elevation and sleep.

Added a new prediction model in analysis that extrapolates from your journal records.

  • This uses your history to predict how long a run will take based on its distance.
  • You can use this to understand recent performance in comparison to earlier periods.
  • Accuracy improves as you add more to your journal!

Maps

  • Bug fix for detached location runs causing a loop while the map resized continuously.
  • Scaling of map now to show all runs within the time period on selecting the time period.

v1.13

New features

  • Added a new breadcrumb map view to the overview so that you can see at a glance a visual overview of your runs. The existing location summary of runs is still available, but now can be reached from the Analysis tab.
  • Added a new view to pace analysis charts to show sleep debt v/s pace. Whilst every person is different this view as you add more and more running journal helps to build a picture of your runs.

Improvements

  • Measurement system was based on the personal settings value in language and region. You could always overrule this temporarily (in settings by switching to metric for instance). Now if you do this the value is maintained.
  • For workouts that are recorded by Garmin the first measurement of the day merged into workouts, causing the pace graph on the Workout to show a long period of zero pace. This is now corrected.
  • In the analysis pace view a small change to indicate charts that add more value as your running journal builds data.

Experimental!

  • Added Shortcuts capability to navigate to adding a new running log entry. Basic capability only at this release.

v1.14

New Capabilities

  • You can now manually create your own breadcrumbs that describe your run.
  • New look run detail screen.
  • Improved article representation.
  • Merge of recorded run routes from HealthKit with breadcrumbs.
  • Added ability to edit run duration and time to handle cases where HealthKit records are inaccurate.
  • Added ability to hide different types of run on pace charts.
  • Enable a journal with just a location view.

Ease of use mods – big focus in this update including:

  • On creating a journal removes the back button and change the main button colour to make the change more visible.
  • On changing gear make the assign button more clear by highlighting it when data changes.

v1.15

UI focussed update

  • New look to analysis charts.
  • New look to best values.
  • Small changes to fonts used.

v1.16

New features

  • Added temperature value. Units for this can be individually set in settings.
  • Added wind speed value. Units for this can be individually set in settings.
  • On install populates the last 30 days of running workouts to journal to provide a starter set of data for your journal. You can edit and change these as needed. You can also delete these from Settings – Advanced Data Management by deleting journal and run data values if desired.
  • Ease maintenance of journals. Now monitors for new running workouts and if found adds these to your journal automatically. Added items are indicated as needing a personal review. This enables basic analysis such as volume, pace and distance with minimal effort. This feature can be enabled or disabled from Settings using the Automatically Add Workouts to Journal toggle.
  • If a purchase has been made and a run includes a location a call to Apple’s weather service is made to get the local weather. If not you can manually enter.
